I am a DPhil student on the BBSRC Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP, funded by a Clarendon Scholarship, working under the supervision of Dr Lindsay Turnbull and Professor Phil Poole. I previously studied Biological Sciences at the University of Oxford, graduating with a BA in July 2016.
My research on the legume-rhizobium symbiosis focuses on how the plant regulates this interaction. I aim to investigate the role of sanctioning in responding to poorly-performing rhizobial strains which fix low levels of nitrogen, and how plants regulate resource allocation to rhizobial partners of different nitrogen-fixing efficiencies.
